Business

The Loeb-Sullivan School of International Business & Logistics (IBL) offers undergraduate and graduate programs. The Bachelor of Science degree in International Business and Logistics (IBL) is the only logistics degree program in New England and blends international business education with contemporary logistics management skills.

We talk about logistics a lot because of the mission here, the Maritime Association here, we move most of our goods by water freight at some point in their life. Because of that you get into an international business piece of it. But what the core of this is, this is a good solid International Business program with a focus on logistics. So we see people getting into sporting goods, technology, Amazon, Google, defense companies like General Dynamics, energy companies, shipping companies, for sure. A lot of our students will come here just to learn business and they'll go home and work with the family business when they get done, and they're well prepared to do that. And then we have people go out into the professions, after they leave here, so it's not a bad place to start. It's a good place to be.

The business program here at the Maritime is honestly one of the best choices that you can make if you are to go into a business degree or field. It teaches you team building, it teaches you how to work with people. Everybody has to present in whichever field they decide to go into. So learning those presentation skills, and just how to do it effectively is super helpful. And learning the logistical aspect of how things move from one place to another that you're moving, if you're working on a ship is another huge thing because it's just it's another aspect that a lot of people may not have in their tool belt.
